    Wow, that's wild. I'm guessing it was a manufacturing issue for that year range that so many discs have gone bad (even more so that WB will replace them if still in print).

    Disc rot sucks. I've collected for Sega Saturn since the 90s and thankfully only lost one disc in the past few years due to rot (World Series Baseball... thankfully a cheap title). So for a whole few years of DVDs to die out must be due to how they were printed.

    I've heard of disc rot, but of all the DVDs, blu-ray discs, and CDs I have, I can't say I've seen disc rot on any of them. I still have one of the first DVDs I ever bought (Austin Powers 2, which I bought in 2000, I believe), and I just watched it last year and it played flawlessly. I might be an anomaly though; maybe the discs I've bought are generally good discs.
