Has anyone seen the "Tesla killer" adverts for a Hydrogen powered auto from Toyota? What do you make of it? I don't even recall where I saw it at present.

I haven't seen the ad, but I'd wager hydrogen electrics will eventually
surpass battery electrics. Faster to fill up than recharge, no horrible strip mining in third world nations to make batteries. No having to build out power plants and electrical grids for millions of electric cars etc.

Only "hurdle" is getting large scale production of hydrogen in a "green"
manner which is apparently being worked out as I type this.

Lol - you could convince me that I dreamed it up, and I would believe you. I dunno where I came across it.

A quick 'duck' search reveals the 2021 MIRAI - zero emissions, up to 402-mile range, complimentary fuel for up to six years (or $15k USD). Starting MSRP $45,5k US.

This sounds better in many ways that bat, which always seemed a bit
"two-faced" to me, from a 'green' stand-point.

Not knowing the science involved with the use of hydrogen, I have some pedestrian questions:

- how safe is hydrogen as a fuel these days?
- where does one refuel?

And curiously, why the 49k entry point?! RnD?

I did read something about this a couple of months ago. Very interesting, even though it only creates a "sublight" warp drive. But I suspect without time dilation or other reletavistic effects.
