Is anyone using morsecode? I am curious how you learned it. I am trying for a while now but I can not get a good grip on it. I understand the letters but once it turns into words I am completely lost.
I learned morse code many years ago with the help of a program.
A friend loaned me a computer with a program on it to learn the code. You could adjust the speed of the words and as it beeped you typed the letter and after a period of time it would tell you have accurate you were.
At the time, morse code was a requirement to get a ham radio license. I got my code speed upto five wpm and took the first test and passed so I had a ham radio licence. Five wpm got a new ham on the 80 and 160 meter bands along with 2 meters.
Using that program I did get above the next level (9 wpm) to get on the 20 meter and other bands but I never upgraded my license.
That was my intoduction to computers and I have been here ever since.
