Is there a way to make the leave feedback portion of the New User login process optional? I am getting a lot of new users who are getting deleted I assume because I am seeing "Didn't leave feedback". Lets be honest in this day and age I don't really need to know what you do for fun?!?!? LOL Is there a way around it?? Thanks...
Is there anything you don't know?!?!?!?!? Jeez.. Thanks once again...

Hmm.. ask him what the winning Ohio Lottory for Monday is so I can
play and buy all of you vintage 286/16's runing OS/2 with EGA
graphics!!!!
This is really not the best place to be asking Synchronet support questions. For a larger audience and a quicker response, see http://wiki.synchro.net/howto:support

Hell if he is giving you the Ohio Lottery numbers I'll take the New
York numbers too...
conventional memory (thanks to virtual 8086 mode). The ultimate would have been something like a 486DX4100 with 32M RAM and SVGA. OS/2 would have flown on such a machine (mine never had that much RAM in those days

I went from a 385dx25 to a 486dx100 and then tried os/2, from dos/desqviuew//qemm. The speed was like a rocket had been put into the
old thing.

We could have done with the powerball numbers last thursday, it was up to 100 million (that's a lot for here).
Andrew
I'd prefer a 386 with VGA, better memory management and later versions
of OS/2 were 32 bit anyway. Even before I ran OS/2, I remember
upgrading to the 386 was a breath of fresh air, because I could finally use QEMM/386 and also DV could run multiple DOS sessions, each with
their own conventional memory (thanks to virtual 8086 mode). The
ultimate would have been something like a 486DX4100 with 32M RAM and
SVGA. OS/2 would have flown on such a machine (mine never had that much RAM in those days :( ). :)

I can't reember, but I'm trying to remember all the chipset makers forI do rember SiS and VIA chipsets. Thought I am not su sure if those are from the right era :-) Also, VIA was around for quite a while.
IBM Compat. I know there was Intel and AMD but wasn't there ONE more
that didn't last long?
Hehe, deal!

YES!! 486/DX100! GREAT chipset!! I had that set up, with ALOT less
RAM! Til I figured out that If you had alot of RAM above average video card and a sub par CPU ii ran MUCH better than having above average
CPU, Below Par Memory and average Video Card.

Yes, the jump to the faster 486s was quite large. :)

Like a drop of nitro was put into the tank.
Now adays we don't see much speed improvement in cpu's. They have been stuck at around the 3.xGhz for a while. (Discounting overclocking).

Upper Westchester area.. Yorktown to be exact.. :)
Apple went through 3 iterations. Initially they were Motorola based, starting with the 68030 IIRC. Then they went to IBM's PowerPC
platfform, before finally switching to Intel. On the PC, there was
Cyrix (IBM) for a while in the 386/486 days.

Stil a Yankees, Knicks, and Giants fan!!

YES Cyrix! I think I got their DX2 model, which wasn't bad and kinda cheap... I always wanted a apple, they were way out of my price range back then. Hell, they're stil expensive
Try looking at Amiga's now, there are the new X1000 and X5000I never had an Amiga before. And now I really want to. I tried emulating
machines, PowerPC's the x5000 is $2g! I'll keep emulating it on my
PC!! I picked up a Dell off lease i5 3.4ghz with 1TB HD and 8 Gigs Ram built in 2015 from eBay for $85 guess what it is doing in addition to running my 2 BBS'? Running a 3rd BBS in an Amiga Emulation! I'd rather spend a couple of hundred on a PC then a couple of grand on a Mac or Amiga...
I never had an Amiga before. And now I really want to. I tried emulating an older version of Amiga and I was pretty much impressed by the way the Workbench looks and works. I guess it was a blast for it's time.
I salvaged a Powermac G5 in perfect condition from the dumpster, but according to AmigaOS web site it is not compatible with AmigaOS 4.1 :(
And the prices for current Amiga hardware is kind of out of this world. Yeah, you got to be a really big fan to pay $2k for the mainboard with
CPU :(
Did you try MorphOS? I really want to try it out on Powermac, it should
be compatible, I just need to get a screen for it :)

I can't forget an AMI WinBios GUI some mainboards of that era used to
have. I loved it. A couple of months back I discovered a PCem v14, it's
a PC Emulator that allows you to pick a specific hardware to emulate.
And it can do WinBios ROMs.
Very nice emulator, if you want to run Windows 95/98. It can emulate Voodoo cards even,
and it gives you the whole retro PC experience, wich includes looking
for a good
drivers :)

Amiga OS 4.1 is nice, I am shocked how up to date it is even though itI am about to order Amiga 4.1 . Can't wait anymore :)
was created many years ago.. I am running that on my Emulator to run
the BBS.. I did try MorphOS, didn't spend enough time with it though.
I spent $35 (yea $35 for a OS) and wanted to get that running on my Emulator.. I will install MorphOS on another Emulator and play around
with it some. Plus there is Icaros which is another fork off the Amiga OS.. I tried that also for a bit. I will play with that one a little
more too... It's fun playing with these old computers... :)
Just in case you'll want to give it a try someday, make sure to get a proper bios pack for v14. V13 pack would work, but you'd be missing out somehave. I loved it. A couple of months back I discovered a PCemVery interesting. :)

Are you using Amiga Forever for emulation? I just found that I can't run MorphOS on my PPC machine as the OS does not support nVidia FX5200 I have currently installed.

I'll keep my modest A4000 setup as it does what I want from a old girl.

I've been using two ssd's in my personal machine for sereral years. The boot drive is a 64gb SSD, and have a second for the home drive.
Both my server's have 500Gb ssd in raid1, and they fly. The only
spinning disk is the server hosted backup drives.
