Another question since I am having a tough time getting Sychro setup with BinkIt or binkD is setting up this point off of my Mystic board easier to do with QWK?? I mean it's not going anywhere except my inhouse Mystic board.. Easier? or should I stick with trying to get binkIt working??
Easier?
I would stick with your binkit or binkd plan for now. You are almost
done if I have been following along right.
QWK networking probably is easier.. but..
I have never been able to successfully setup mystic as a hub. That
doesn't mean it can't be done.. I may have missed something and you may have success.
You will have to use the correct message base numbers for the QWK areas. I'm not sure how to determine that from a Mystic BBS. A little trial and error may be needed to get it done.
Ttyl :-),
Thanks for the vote of confidence Al, I'm just having a heck of a time getting binkIt to work..
I even tried BinkD but can't seem to get it to startup..
I don't know but when I start seeing double when I am trying to
do something I walk away from it for a bit,
Re: Re: Synchro Points again..
If you have BinkIT installed there will be a section for it in your ctrl/services.ini like so..
[BINKP]
Port=24554
Command=binkit.js
If you already have another binkp answering on port 24554 (your Mystic probably does) you'll want to change that poer to something else like 24555. You'll have to remember to use that alternate port in the node setting in Mystic as well.

You'll have to watch with Mystic's mailer, binkit and binkd that there
are no port conflicts or something won't work.. :)

A port conflict is the usual problem here.
I haven't used BinkIT, but from what others have said, it looks pretty easy to setup. Digital Man can certainly help there. I use binkdV
myself, and have had no issues getting it working. Anyway, what issues are you having? I know first time I setup Synchronet, I had issues with the multiple steps needed, but now I have adding a new net down to such
a fine art, I can do it all in one hit and get it right first time, as I did with RetroNet yesterday. :)
Are they running on the same BBS Bucko? If so, Al is right here. Or
you have to go down the more complex route of running multiple IPs on
the same box like I do, but I suggest using a different port, it is much easier. :D
Driving me nuts because I don't understand java and my kid who is the all knowing all powerful wizard of java for me is not here!!! LOL
I find when I am having issues like this that it is best to wait and let DM get back with me with an answer. It usually fixes it or at least
gets me a lot closer. :)

Well, BinkIT is supposed to be simple my issues are with the jsfido
java file, it is giving me an error when I install.. As for binkD can't
seem to find a working version, I have downloaded a few but I am just burnt with it.. Gonna give it a couple of days then go back to it..

No actually, they are on two different VM's same host but different
VM's.. Also two different ports...
Unfortunately that is not the issue right now, the issue is when I jsexec binkit install I am getting an error when it starts reading from fido.js in the load directory line 2 reference error require is not defined..
What version of SBBS did you start with and what do you have now?
That error sounds like your install is not fully up to date.
On my SBBS here fido.js is in /sbbs/exec/load and is v1.33 2018/06/17.
The contents of the load directory is important also.
