What is the next step in the Iran war?

The US and Israel have attacked Iran, creating the problem that Iran is threatening the Strait of Hormuz to such an extent that no commercial ship dares to pass through it anymore.
That is a problem, because 20% of the oil and a great deal of gas comes from there and goes to the rest of the world, and food from all over the world arrives there to feed the local population.
Trump has already said that the war against Iran has been won, but he is practically begging for help, because the US now has no idea how to make the Strait of Hormuz safe again.
After all, Iran refuses to surrender, and that was a scenario the Americans had not considered.
They could have asked Putin for such a scenario. They also have a three-day war that has already lasted four years and which Russia is losing.
The US is now in danger of losing the war as well, because if they do not manage to open the Strait of Hormuz, the conclusion is that Iran has won. In my opinion, the next step for the US is to seize Iran's oil island of Kharg.
That could potentially give the US a negotiating position. Do they actually have to succeed in taking the island? Iran also understands that the Americans might want to do that.
