• Has Iran been defeated?

From Joseph Pereira@1:103/705 to All on Thu Mar 12 05:21:04 2026
Trump indicates that the war against Iran was won in the first hour.

    The world thinks differently.

In Oman, an oil refinery/storage facility is on fire because an Iranian Shaheed struck it. An oil tanker is on fire in Iraq because an Iranian drone struck the ship. Iran has laid mines in the Strait of Hormuz. All of this doesn't sound like a war won by the US.

The Strait of Hormuz is closed.

In the US, people are now afraid that Iran will carry out terrorist attacks in the US.

In short, the US has started a war that it doesn't seem to be winning yet. The Iranian regime is not yet in danger. There is no popular uprising.

What was the goal of this war again?

Oh yes, there was no goal.

Now then, good luck with everything, because what are you going to achieve now?

Meanwhile, Brent oil is almost at $100 again.

Trump has indicated that Iran has been defeated, but is now asking five countries for help to keep the Strait of Hormuz open. All five countries have indicated that they will not provide that help. This is a problem that the US caused and that the US must now solve.

Trump has indicated in response that NATO must help. I can only hope that NATO is smarter than that. The rest of NATO must be frugal with its weapons, because the US wants to conquer Greenland and threatens Canada's very existence. NATO must therefore absolutely NOT intervene in the Middle East. This attack was launched by the US. It is their problem to solve now. Trump threatens that NATO countries will face dark times if they do not come to help. I thought he had already won the war?

A year ago, Trump said that Iran's nuclear facilities were "obliterated" Their ability to make nuclear weapons was "set back years"

    https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/06/irans-nuclear-facilities-have-been-obliterated-and-suggestions-otherwise-are-fake-news/

But 3 weeks ago we urgently needed to go to war with them to .... stop them from getting nuclear weapons? did they maybe mean that their nuclear program was set back "days" ?

NATO has no obligation. we attacked Iran. I'm pretty sure the agreement is pretty specific that NATO only needs to help if a NATO member is attacked, not the other way around.

Yeah personally, I'm of the opinion we
deserve everything that comes from this
brainless conflict. It further blows my
mind that they really thought Iran
wouldn't use the one piece of leverage
they have, the strait. How goddamn
stupid are these idiots? Between Trump
    and Netanyahu, these idiots are
    single-handedly validating every
grievance the Iranian regime has ever
    voiced.

    They are literally giving Iranian
    Theocracy credibility.

At this point I hope the gas hits over
$6 a gallon down here in FL, maybe some
people will finally learn this lesson.

Forgive my last message. I'm on a
C64 and it appears it doesn't play
nice when editing. I was just
agreeing with you that the level of
    incompetence, stupidity, and lack
of imagination is un fuckin real.

    We deserve the consequences of
    this action.

Surely Kamala would have done a better job. Let's vote for Kamala in 2028. She knows exactly how long it takes terrorists to rebuild nuclear weapons, unlike incompetent Trump.

Or he lied. Most independent organizations/governments agreed that it hadn't done much to hamper Iran's nuclear ambitions.

So, was he lying then? or was he lying now?

Or, and my money is on this one: Was he lying both times?

If I believe she's the best candidate in 2028, I will vote for her. That said, there are others that I would prefer to win the nomination over her.

HOWEVER, she is not president. nor is Joe Biden. This discussion is about the actions and words of the current president.

Well we don't have to look far to see
he's lying. See the recent MAGA
    resignation, dude says as much.

MAGA continues taking Ls that hurt
    everybody for no reason while
    refusing to acknowledge them.
    Lessons will be learned eventually.
