Hello All,

If you remove a link that has been unresponsive for quite some time, is there an easy way to delete all pending outgoing mail packets and tic files for this link? Or do you have to delete everything manually?

I probably should have asked this a long time ago, as when I have done it in the past I would just script up something to go through the *.lo file, remove any "^" or special characters before the path, as well as any lines that point to files wanting to be saved (basically everything a .tic file points at), and then use something like "xargs rm < somefile.clo" to remove the list. However, if the husky project has something built more specific to the task, I would much rather use it.

BBBS has a nifty switch for such an occasion.

../bbbs z 1:234/567. That command will remove any mail and tics for the node and also disconnect them from any areas they are connected to and finally remove the node from your config. Simple as that.

I wrote a bash script that works, but it doesn't actually remove the link or take the node number out of the area/filearea configs, so it's still somewhat of a manual process. Just looking for something easier that works well with husky software.

Normally it is Ctrl-X. The parameter is declared as READuudecode in goldkeys.cfg. The path where the file will be saved is UUdecodePath in golded.cfg.

Looks like it works already, I just didn't have the UUdecodePath defined so it ended up in my /home/user directory.

So this basically removes the node number from your areas and fileareas, but leaves the link setting alone? If so, perfect! Can't wait to try it. Thank you!

No, it deletes all netmail, echomail and file echos for the specified link. You
may read the full description by running

perldoc rmLinkMail

To remove the link from echo- and fileareas you may run

hpt afix link_address '-*'
htick ffix link_address '-*'

After that you may use rmLinkMail.

I don't know about such a program for Linux. I don't think I need such a program. It's more actual for me to have a script that puts on pause the subscription of a link who has too much mail and files on hold. I'll write it when I have time.

That's what outbound managers are for.

BinkleyTermXE had a nice interface for that. Afaik it was possible to kill all outbound files for a specific node/point there. There was a way to start btxe without COM Port for outbound managing only. If btxe is available for your plattform you should give it a try. I used it for OS/2 but i forgot it when i migrated to Linux. Well, another point for the long growing corona todo list.

I don't think there are many standalone htick users so it's better placed to hpt. You could drop a note to htick that a removal tool can be found at hpt.

huskybse is the initial base entry point for all husky projects. Or in other words the minimal must have for any subproject.

INSTALL How to compile, install and use the Husky software. READ THIS!

I'm not on the lastest source tree version but if there is still a huskymisc project then it would fit there as an independent tool.

Before i tell you that the btxe/2 interface looks something like similar (but with less details/menu) have you tried to contact the author? It looks like ascii/ncurses output so there may be a good change for a port.
