• Foreign Address question

From RickV@VERT to All on Thu Jan 29 10:33:11 2026
    Hello everybody!

When I send any fidonet mail, I get this "Foreign address" entry in my sbbsecho.log. I know it must be a setting of mine, but I can't figure it out, can some one point me in the right direction?

Looks normal, except "SENT" netmail is normally (by default) deleted by SBBSecho. Sounds like you might have echocfg->NetMail->Delete Processed NetMail set to "No".

I have also been seeing that and have no idea why.

Hoping somebody chimes in here with an answer...

DM, but what about the "Foreign address" part? What does that actually
    mean?

I am seeing this too and don't recall it in the past. I pay pretty
    close attention to FTN logs.

It means it's addressed to a foreign node (not you).

It's not a new message. It's not an error message either. It just means you're not deleting your sent netmail. <shrug>

Hmmm OK, yes... Somehow I haven't noticed that before. Thanks for the
